About Jen Fox

Jen’s love of country music goes back about as far as she can remember. She fondly recalls listening to Garth Brooks with her mother as an eight-year-old in Wichita, Kansas. And her love for country music and its fans has only grown over the years. “The feelings you get listening to country music are really something special,” says Jen.

Jen first realized her love of broadcasting when she moved to Arkansas City, Kansas, to attend Cowley County Community College. There, the professor in her public speaking class persuaded her to take his radio practicum course. She knew she wanted to make a career out of radio the first time she sat behind the microphone.

After a couple of years working at a local station in Ark City, Jen continued her career at K-State in Manhattan, Kansas, where she instructed over sixty students at the campus radio station. Then, Jen spent four-and-a-half years working for Manhattan Broadcasting Company, where she was on all five stations at one time or another. Beginning on a night show, she became production director, and progressed to co-hosting a morning show. Jen recently moved to Joplin, where she is excited to continue her broadcasting legacy on Morning KIX.

When she’s not behind the microphone, Jen loves spending time with her kids, and two dogs. Last year, she completed the Couch to 5K and loves the strength she’s gained; she averages nearly four miles a run now!
