“I can’t believe they are still letting me do this,” says Randy Brooks about his work on KIX 102.5. “Every day I think they will have finally gotten wise, and make me leave!”
Randy’s been with KIX 102.5 since he moved to Joplin many, many, many, long years ago. “It’s an amazing place…I can’t imagine living anywhere else.” He’s been working many years in radio, but is also a musician and plays many instruments.
He has studied the Okinawan martial art of Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu since he was a child and holds a fifth-degree black belt and title of Shihan in that style, but recently retired from teaching after over twenty years of instructing. Randy was recognized by Radio INK magazine as one of the top 30 program directors in the United States and has won numerous broadcasting awards. He is an avid fan of country music and loves that he gets to focus on his main passion everyday at work. “I’d probably do this for free if they didn’t pay me, but you’ll never get me to admit that…..wait a minute, you’re not gonna use that are you?….HEY!”
