Jennifer Barnes - The Latest Addition To KIX 102.5

Hey there! I'm Jennifer Barnes, the newest addition to The Morning KIX.  I was born and raised in a small town in Central Illinois and have been involved in radio since I was 8 years old.  In 4th grade, I became a part of a youth radio program at the local country station, and by age 16 was officially working there part-time.  I went to college at Eastern Illinois University and graduated with a degree in Communication Studies, all the while working for the student radio station as an afternoon DJ, and later a morning show co-host.  I returned to my hometown and local station in 2006 until recently moving to Joplin!

As you can probably tell, I absolutely love working in radio!  Come on...I get paid to talk all morning and listen to great music.  You can’t go wrong there!  I’ve been a fan of country music since I can remember, some of my favorites being Sugarland, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis…although there are so many more!    I’m also a huge TV nerd and reality show junkie. I will not answer the phone or doorbell when Grey’s Anatomy or LOST is on, and also love comedies like The Office, How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory. 

I’m a big fan of theatre, especially musicals, so if you ever pull up next to me in traffic you’ll probably catch me singing…loudly…like my car is a Broadway stage.  It’s okay though, I don’t charge for traffic performances.  I also love going to movies and hockey games, eating at Buffalo Wild Wings, and laughing.
